Rescheduled 2018 Annual Conference A Success!
The 18th Annual Conference was originally scheduled for early October, 2018, but was held in late February, 2019 after storm damage forced us to reschedule. Despite the change, the conference was a great success with well over 100 people in attendance.
In addition to enjoying great accommodations and meals, attendees benefited from two full days of career development and educational opportunities. Between scheduled presentations, participants found plenty of time to network with other permitting professionals from across the state to discuss unique challenges and share solutions. There was also time for attendees to enjoy the local atmosphere and support local businesses.
The conference began with a warm welcome from the Mayor of Carolina Beach. The guest speakers presented programs on a number of topics of specific interest to permitting professionals, including dealing with change at a personal and professional level, tiny homes, flood planning and mitigation, working with inspectors, legislative changes, liens and electronic payment processing.
Representatives from the three licensing boards (General Construction, Electrical, and Plumbing, Heating & Fire Sprinkler Contractors) were also in attendance and participated on both days, providing important information as well as responding to questions and concerns from attendees.
All in all, the conference was a great success! Check back here in mid-2019 for information on our next exciting conference. We hope to see you there!
